Antioch Accomplishments:
- Municipal Climate Action Plan in progress: funding through EECBG funding.
- EECBG Funding application for an induction lighting project as well as a digital HVAC. Induction Lighting Pilot Program Locations:
- Laurel Rd between Hillcrest Avenue and Kushner Way
- Knoll Park on Valley Way at Country Hills Drive (lights are in the park surrounding the fields)
- City Hall Parking Lot (West End)
- Municipal GHG Inventory completed by intern and part-time employees.
- Working for better public transportation with BART and the Water Transportation Authority.
- Twenty-four acres of Burrowing Owl Habitat Preserve.
- Green Building Guidelines
- Free Composting Classes.
- 45% of waste material being diverted through recycling, reuse and divert waste programs.
- Construction and Demolition Ordinance mandating 50% debris recycling for projects valued at $75,000 or greater.
- Water Conservation efforts through residential education letters.
- Encourage protection of watershed.
- Annual Costal Clean-Up Days.
- Community Wide GHG Inventory completed through collaboration with ICLEI.
