On February 3, 2011, Contra Costa County Climate Leaders Program and the USGBC-NCC Diablo East Bay Branch teamed up to present a workshop on the new CALGreen legislation, focusing on how to comply with the new regulations and what to do next. Panelists discussed strategies for both residential and commercial projects, the history of the requirements, the legislative actions required and looked at several case studies. Peer?to?peer discussions between City and County Agency staff as well as private sector participants covered many questions and focused our attention on the future. Attendees left the workshop with a thorough understanding of the challenges and benefits to these green building guidelines, how a city's current green building guidelines are affected, and how these regulations will contribute to city Climate Action Plans.
